The New Construction/Failed Equipment Program
(PDF:426KB) is designed for commercial and industrial customers who are building new facilities, undergoing major renovations of an existing facility, or replacing failed equipment.
WMECO will assist, encourage and support customers and design professionals in the selection of more energy-efficient strategies that can be incorporated into the design and construction of projects. The New Construction/Failed Equipment Program reduces capital and operating costs by helping the customer in the development and evaluation of energy-saving upgrades.
Lighting
An efficient lighting design is just as important as selecting efficient fixtures. Lighting designs that achieve lower watts per square foot than the Massachusetts building code can be evaluated for conservation incentive eligibility.
Motors and Motor Controls
Commercial and industrial customers who are building new facilities, undergoing major renovations of an existing facility, or replacing a failed motor may be eligible for WMECO's MotorUp Rebate Program. Motor Controls, also known as Variable Speed Drives, or VSDs, are also an excellent way to reduce energy costs for motors whose loads frequently vary.
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Commercial and industrial customers may be eligible for incentives to purchase HVAC systems, such as rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, and controls.
Chillers
Advances in chiller technology and design practices allow greatly improved energy efficiency in the cooling of buildings and industrial processes. A high efficiency chiller plant can improve comfort, productivity, and financial results.
Compressed Air
Compressed air is one of the most expensive forms of energy. Consider buying the most efficient compressed air system available when purchasing new; WMECO’s incentives can help.
Advanced Building/Core Performance Program
WMECO offers the Advanced Building/Core Performance Program for use by building design professionals to achieve significant, predictable energy savings in the design of new office, retail and school buildings.
