New Construction/Failed Equipment
The New Construction/Failed Equipment Program
(PDF:426KB) is designed for commercial and industrial customers who are building new facilities, undergoing major renovations of an existing facility, or replacing failed equipment.
WMECo will assist, encourage and support customers and design professionals in the selection of more energy-efficient strategies that can be incorporated into the design and construction of projects. The New Construction/Failed Equipment Program reduces capital and operating costs by helping the customer in the development and evaluation of energy-saving upgrades.
An efficient lighting design is just as important as selecting efficient fixtures. Lighting designs that achieve lower watts per square foot than the Massachusetts building code can be evaluated for conservation incentive eligibility.
LED incentive eligibility requires the fixture be selected from any of the following:
Electric Motor Controls
Motor Controls, also known as Variable Speed Drives, or VSDs, are an excellent way to reduce energy costs for motors whose loads frequently vary.
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Commercial and industrial customers may be eligible for incentives to purchase HVAC systems, such as rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, and controls.
Advances in chiller technology and design practices allow greatly improved energy efficiency in the cooling of buildings and industrial processes. A high efficiency chiller plant can improve comfort, productivity, and financial results.
Compressed air is one of the most expensive forms of energy. Consider buying the most efficient compressed air system available when purchasing new; WMECo’s incentives can help.
Advanced Building/Core Performance Program
